We didn't really wake up hungover, just really relaxed & un-motivated to do anything today!
I think the saving grace was all the fruit infused water that the waiters kept topping our glasses up with & all the food we ate.
The one thing we really want to do is visit our favourite vegetarian restaurant that we went to the first day! Its just after 10am when we eventually get there and we both order vegetarian omelettes, coffee & berry smoothies! nothing revives you like a big breakfast with all the good stuff.
The rest of the day went by really slowly & uneventfully. We have a 12 hour overnight bus booked tonight & planned for today to be a quiet day. We were thrilled when the lady at the hostel reception said we dont have to check out at midday & we can stay in the room & use the shower facilitates as late as we need to! It was really nice of her & allowed us more bed time.
Just after lunch a really big thunderstorm rolled down and covered the town in rain. We watched it through the bedroom window, while sitting on the end of the bed. It was really nice.
Eventually at 4pm, we showered again & changed into comfortable clothes, packed our bags & checked out. We caught a Taxi to the bus terminal & ordered foot long vegetarian sub's with extra jalapeños. We had 2 hours to wait before our bus left. It wasn't all that boring, another storm had emerged from over the mountains & made its way down the valley to the town.
Just before 7pm, they started checking tickets & letting people through. We had been turned back twice already for being too keen to stow our bags & take our seats. It looks like the bus wouldn't be leaving on time tonight!
There was some confusion once we were allowed out near the bus terminals & we were pointe din the wrong direction to a large purple bus. One of the bus attendants 'checked' our ticket & stowed our bags underneath, luckily the second attendant actually checked our tickets & started frantically gesturing back down the path, the way we came. While he was gesturing at us, he was also reprimanding his co worker who didn't check our tickets properly & stowed our bags.
we easily retrieved them & found the right bus, a silver one with the letters OCC on the side. Admittedly not what we expected, considering we booked through ADO.
This bus was slightly less roomy & comfortable than the 2 previous ADO ones we have been on... oh well.
The first 2 hours of the bus ride were absolute hell for me. On rare occasions I get motion sick & this was one of those occasions. The rain was pelting down on the side of the bus & we were travelling up & down mountains & consistently round bends. At one point I got a plastic bag ready cause I was so sure I would be sick.
Sometime after 9pm, I drifted off to sleep & when I awoke after 10pm, the road was straight & my nausea was gone.
The rest of the bus ride up till 12am went by smoothly, a few men snored & we tossed & turned, waking every hour or so, before adjusting & going back to sleep.
