Today we woke up full of anticipation to see Victoria Falls, also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya by the Lozi people, which translates to; The Smoke That Thunders.
We are going to go in the afternoon when the sun is at a good angle to see the rainbows in the mist at their most magnificent.
Our body clocks wake us up by 6am & in the early morning stillness we can hear the falls from where we are lying in our tents. The peacefulness disappears at 7am when the helicopters, micro lights & planes take to the sky & circle overhead on their scenic flights. At one point later that day I count 7 aircraft in the sky above where I am lying. The noise is actually annoying at times!
I spend the early part of the day next to the pool while Tom sits in the bar, fixing my laptop & phone which are both having problems updating & are now both glitching. It seems like a furious & frustrating battle against the technology.
I stay out of his way, I have no idea what I'm doing & my hovering & emotions only increase Tom's work load. It seems like every month something technology related incident happens.
After 4 hours, many coffees & many beers, it is fixed! We celebrate with a big veggie burger each then get ready for Victoria Falls our 4th world wonder of the trip!
We walk a kilometer down the road from our campsite/resort and enter through the ticket area.
ATC is covering the cost of the tickets & will reimburse us the $30 US each when we get back. I can't remember if this was the case 5 years ago.
It's our first world wonder that feels free of charge !

We feel the mist on our faces nearly straight away, depending on where we are standing & which way the wind blows.
There are about 15 different view points along a 1.5km walkway giving very different perspectives of the falls.
It is actually mind blowing how powerful & breathtakingly beautiful mother nature can be.
We spend a few hours walking along, gawking at the vibrant rainbows, hearing & feeling the thundering, taking photos & standing in the mist.
It was a really special afternoon. I wont bother wasting my words trying to describe it in detail, using adjective in the dictionary & still failing to accurately portray it. Instead, I will include a heap of photos & strongly recommend that you visit it yourself!

The pathway has had extensions since I was last here & goes all the way along till you reach the bridge which connects Zambia & Zimbabwe across the Zambezi river. It has a lot more lookout points & I notice the water level looks lower than the last time I was here. We see 2 wart hog at the end of the walkway hiding deep in some grass & later a strange looking deer/antelope, not surprisingly, we were warned that animals have been seen all along the walkway.
After Victoria falls, we walk back to the Shearwater resort & get ready to go out for dinner at a restaurant in town called Mama Africas. There was just meant to be 5 of us, Sarah, Simon, Leah, Tom & myself. However throughout the course of the late afternoon that was increased to include Nodia, Jess, Ryan & 4 other new people that were added to the tour groups. We were split up over 2 tables which was a little bit unfortunate but understandable because we didn't make a reservation or realise how busy they get.
The food, live music, beer & company was exceptional & it was suddenly 10pm. It's crazy how this keeps happening.
We walked back to sheerwater resort, where I said goodnight & Tom continued to the bar for a couple more with Jess & Ryan, a couple more turned into a late 2am arrival to the tent & another hangover for him in the morning.
