Day 146 - Sheer Water Resort & The Town Of Victoria Falls

Today was a slow start, Tom was up by 8am to eat the breakfast provided by the ATC truck. I missed breakfast & slept till 10am.
Sadly breakfast wasn't the only thing I missed, some people left in the morning & I didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

My hangover plagued me all day, Tom seemed a lot more resilient but still not feeling great. We decided to go to Victoria's Falls tomorrow when were feeling better. We walked through the town of Victoria falls which is basically an overpriced African tourist town. I don't think the local's could afford to buy groceries here with prices nearly on par with Australia.

We find a cafe & order big meals, Tom choosing Pizza & I choose a vegetarian big breakfast.
After breakfast we do some more exploring & poke around in all the new shops as well as the local craft markets.
We walk into approximately 15 different shops selling material, beads, stone statues, wooden engravings, paintings, textiles, wooven baskets & bead work.
I was hoping to find some nice wooven baskets to send home, but I wasn't happy with the quality or the price.

I did however find a wooden carved impala face mask that wasn't yet varnished. It's been carved from a really light coloured wood & I'm hoping to get it varnished in a light colour, instead of the deep dark colour that get's done in Africa.
In the hotel reception I see some really beautiful women baskets of natural fibres & wire. They are exactly what I've been looking for & I was told they were brought in South Africa. I'm sure I'll be able to find them in Cape Town.
The rest of the day was spent doing our clothes washing in a camp sink & relaxing next to the pool.
Dinner was a veggie burger, chips & salad ordered from the bar.
