Day 231, 232, 233 & 234 - 4 Days In Rayong

Our 4 days in Rayong, go by considerably slower & non eventful in comparison to our crazy busy schedule in Bangkok.

We wake up most mornings after sleeping in & with hangovers of varying degrees. Tom & I make breakfast & coffee for everyone, which is realistically the foundations for the alcohol we will undoubtedly consume.
We spend a lot of time next to the pool drinking cocktails, listening to music, discussing Eminem's recent album & absorbing the sun's rays.

The resort features the big pool, along with smaller pool's & a sauna. There are a few food options in the complex & a big seafood market every day along the beach.
We visit the beach a few times, but each time we enter the water we are attacked by swarms of ravenous sea lice.
Our hopes of going diving & snorkelling at the nearby island's is squashed by the locals who report that the reef is bare as a consequence of the overfishing that happens every night. At night we do notice the lights out in the ocean & we are very sad to learn that they are all big fishing trawlers.
I'm sure Se Asia doesn't have the same laws about fishing that Australia has. We see a lot of what looks like under sized fish at the seafood markets & a huge amount of seafood. I highly doubt they can sell all of it locally in one day. We went to some of the markets in mid afternoon (the main rush of customers is in the morning) and there was always a lot of seafood left.

On our third day here we hire a scooter with a side car & spend most of the day cruising around the local suburbs looking at the temples, markets, beach's, shops, restaurants & rural farming properties.

It was a great 4 days. We went with minimal expectations & all we really wanted was to be pool side, beach front & relaxed, in each others company.

An advantage of an Air BnB is that a lot of them have washing machines, which means free washing! Not enough space for all the clothes on the drying rack ? No problem, if you have a Tom, who has a long piece of string.
