Day 247 - An Extra Day In Luang Namtha

The original plan was to move on to the next place today....
We both were thinking the exact same thing & exchanged goofy looks. The plans to pack & move to the next place were then thrown out the window.  Instead we settled in for another day of relaxing & catching up on social media.

Today, we found a cafe set back from the main road with the best prices & biggest range of western & Laos food we've seen yet!  Something that we've encountered every day here is ladies from a local ethnic tribe, wearing traditional clothing, will come into the restaurant's & stop you on the street to try & sell you bracelets. Yesterday, in 1 hour, while eating, we are approached by 5 different ladies. Hopefully in this cafe that is set back from the road, we wont see so many of them. We feel really bad to have to constantly tell them no.

I can't seem to stay away from the green curry's in Asia & today is no exception! Luckily, once I've had enough of the green, there's a red & a yellow to over indulge on. Tom has traded his typical dish of pad-thai for fried rice.

We also have iced coffee's here that get us motivated for an upper body workout.
My muscles are sore from the posture I had while sitting on the bike, plus the jiggling & vibrating of the bumpy road. The 15 minute body weight circuit we do, absolutely kills me. We both do push ups till fail, just to ensure total fatigue.  Hours later, sitting up in bed typing on the laptop hurt's my shoulders & biceps.
It's a good productive day & we feel good about having a day off & not being rushed through Laos.

The only worrying thing about today is that our box of souvenirs from Africa that we posted from South Africa has not yet made it to Australia. According to the tracking, it hasn't left South Africa... Nat & Dom have been so nice & made some phone calls on our behalf to try & find out where it is & what the problem is.

According to Australia Post, it should have arrived about a month ago if it was sent from South Africa. There's a few steps missing from the tracking & release from South Africa, such as customs. We're hopeful that it's being held because of the bottle of vermouth/port & that we need to pay some sort of alcohol tax before they will release it. I really really hope it's not lost. We have hundred's of dollars of souvenirs in this box & I will be genuinely devastated if it doesn't arrive to Australia.
