Day 75 - Day 5 Of Our Annapurna Trek

It is with a heavy heart we leave the mountains of Nepal. It takes us only 30 minutes of walking to reach a nearby town with road access. We are on the bus by 8am, travelling down a dirt road that winds down the mountain. Initially the bus is a bit scary, the roads are precarious at the best of times & I worry about more land slides happening. Thankfully my fears are for nothing. We arrive in pokharra at midday, safe & sound, though a little bit sad to be back in the city.

Once back at the hotel, We organise our washing & then go to Run's shop to meet his beautiful wife. The shop is full of handmade Nepali clothing. Tom buys 2 pairs of pants & 2 shirts, I buy a pair of pants & a scarf. The clothing is beautiful & we happily hand over 5000 NPR, the equivalent of $67.50 AUD. We are unsure if we are meant to tip Run for his amazing work as a guide & we don't want to cause offence. Buying clothes from his shop is a good way to support him, his family & show appreciation.

We are determined to come back to Nepal one day, were sure we will see him again.

In the mean time we have exchanged face book details & highly highly recommend him to our friends & family!

The rest of the day is spent catching up on life admin at a local cafe & a belated birthday celebration.
