It's just before 8 when I make my way to the common area for breakfast & life restoring coffee.
We set off just after 9am, with only a very short, downwards dirt path trek ahead of us. We arrive at Ghandrak just after 1pm, one of the most charming villages we have been through. It's a mixture of old & new buildings perched on the side of the mountain. There are fields of corn, clumps of bamboo, gardens full of potted colour, donkeys, horses, goats & buffalo lazily grazing & newly hatched chickens running along the path. Once again, we arrive just before the afternoon storm & watch it pass while drinking beer.
The afternoon & evening pass by peacefully & uneventfully. It's nice to sit in the courtyard amongst the flowers & soak up the moment.
Were going to miss the trekking & the nature that can only be found within the mountains of Nepal. We are determined to come back & do a longer trek, our guide suggests Everest Base Camp. A suggestion that has grown more appealing every second. After dinner we have a chat to Run about the next days plans. We are disappointed to learn that there has been a recent landslide that has covered a section of road that we were meant to trek on. Day 5, our last day was meant to be about 5 hours & take us right down to Birethanti. Unfortunately the plan now is to wake up at 6.30am & leave in time to walk to a town with a road connection & travel straight back to pokhara.
